Job Description
Job Title: Dyslexia Interventionist
Reports To: Building Principal
Contracted Days: 180
Job Summary: To assist students who are identified with dyslexia and/or characteristics of dyslexia by implementing the district dyslexia intervention. Should possess the ability to work with various aged students, adapt to different levels and needs of the students, build a strong rapport with parents and colleagues, and have the desire to work in a student-centered environment. They should also have good organization and communication skills.
Essential Duties:

Be trained in district dyslexia intervention program

Implement the district dyslexia intervention program

Work with small groups of students that have dyslexia and/or characteristics of dyslexia

Prepare lesson plans for various groups of students

Conduct appropriate assessments (under the guidance of the dyslexia coordinator)

Maintain all necessary student records required by the dyslexia program

Work closely with the dyslexia coordinator and other interventionists through observations and coaching to ensure the fidelity of the dyslexia intervention program

Attend weekly PLC meetings with the dyslexia intervention team

Maintain student confidentiality
-
Effectively observes assigned work hours.

Maintains a pattern of prompt and regular attendance.

Follows the daily schedule as prescribed.

Work with middle and high school-aged students

Participates in staff development opportunities provided by the district

Demonstrates a positive attitude toward work assignments..
